The Galveston Steampunk Festival offers a family friendly program filled with entertainment, exhibits, vendors, presenters, games and much more!.
Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction that incorporates retrofuturistic technology and aesthetics inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. The extensive history of mechanical innovation displayed at the Galveston Railroad Museum embodies the steampunk spirit. Galveston was built by Victorian industrialists, who used new machines and new fabrication methods to drive economic development.
Join us at the Galveston Railroad Museum as we take a step back in time through machines, performances, music, costumes, lectures, and more. Galveston is the perfect backdrop to explore the industrial history that peaks our steampunk curiosity today.
